After a successful pilot season of workshops at Tākina in November 2025, we're back with lots of drama fun for terms one and two of 2026!
Sessions are suitable for any level of experience - complete beginners OR regular drama goers. Classes cover a range of drama games and exercises; building skills, creativity, and a passion for performing arts!

Saturday Mornings - Terms One & Two
50mins of fun and games! This session is all about introducing kids to drama. It focuses on participation, developing listening skills and building confidence. And FUN!

The fun and games continue in this session, with the added bonus of more challenging drama activities. Kids will explore movement, storytelling, improv, scripts and more!

We can be a bit flexible with the age groups. For example, the 10am class is designed for kids ages 5-7 and the 11am for 8-12s, but if you have a 7 year old and an 8 year old and you want them in the same class, you can choose whichever age group you think is the best fit.
Kids need to be at least 5 years to attend. 13 years + are welcome to join the 11am 8+ session. We don't have a dedicated teen class yet. (Let us know if you want one!)
At this stage, we're just offering two terms of classes this year.
Let Bel know what other classes you'd like to see in the future!

We aim to keep fees low to make drama class available to as many young people as possible. This program is currently unfunded, so we're offering a few pay scale options for you to select the fee you can manage.
$30 per class - Pay it Forward
This fee covers our expenses, helps to grow the program, and covers the fee gap for those in financial hardship.
$22 per class - Standard Fee
This fee covers class, teaching and venue expenses.
$12 per class - Financial Hardship
This fee goes towards our expenses.
If you know of anyone who would like to be a Sponsor, please let Bel know!

You are welcome to come along to just one or two classes (and pay per class). However, we do have a limited number of spaces available, and priority will be given to those that have booked in advance. If you wait to turn up on the day, and the class is full, we would need to turn you away. So best to get in touch and book your spot!
Children must wait till they turn five to join class.
Street parking is available. Please adhere to packing restrictions.
You can pay via bank transfer or cash on the day. If you are enroled for the whole term, you can pay a lump sum or installments.
If you are paying via transfer, please be sure to include your child's name as a Reference.
Exact change is appreciated when paying in cash before class.
Students should come in comfortable clothes that they can move in. Bring a water bottle. Closed toe shoes are recommended. It is preferred that students keep their shoes on during class for safety reasons.
If parents want to be in the room with us they have to join in! It's important that we don't have an audience throughout workshops so that students feel safe to be brave and give things a go. (But you are welcome to have a sneaky peak from the door). For most sessions we welcome you to come in at the very end and watch the final game.
